Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TrialSignal collects, uses and protects account, billing and product usage information for a professional clinical trial intelligence service.

Who we are and how to contact us

TrialSignal operates a clinical trial intelligence platform for professional research, diligence and workflow use. The service is available at https://intelligencetrials.com.

For privacy requests, account questions or data protection inquiries, contact support@intelligencetrials.com. For billing and invoice questions, contact billing@intelligencetrials.com.

Information we collect

We collect account identifiers such as email address, authentication metadata and optional professional profile fields including name, affiliation, phone number and billing profile details.

When you purchase a report, bundle or subscription, payments are processed by Stripe. We store Stripe customer, checkout, invoice, subscription and access identifiers needed to fulfill purchases, but we do not store full card numbers.

When you use the workspace, we may process searches, saved folders, unlocked reports, requested IP enrichments, support messages, product interactions and technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.

Public clinical trial and patent data

The platform indexes, normalizes and analyzes public clinical trial records, primarily from ClinicalTrials.gov, and may enrich reports with public patent source metadata where available.

User searches may trigger ingestion of additional public records into the product database. Those public source records are not treated as private user content, although the fact that a specific account searched or saved a report is treated as account usage data.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate users, operate the dashboard, manage report access, process payments, deliver transactional emails, respond to support requests, generate requested reports, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors and improve data quality.

We may use aggregate or de-identified product usage information to improve search relevance, public funnel performance and data quality workflows.

AI processing and research outputs

The service may use AI providers to normalize public trial data, summarize source-linked records, generate report sections, assist search workflows and produce patentability or freedom-to-operate research notes.

AI outputs are research intelligence only. They may be incomplete or incorrect and must be validated against primary sources and qualified professional review before use in medical, legal, regulatory, investment or patent decisions.

Service providers

We use Supabase for authentication and database services, Stripe for payments and invoices, Resend for transactional email, Vercel for hosting and deployment, and OpenAI-compatible services for AI-assisted workflows.

These providers process data only as needed to provide infrastructure, payment, email, hosting, security or AI workflow services. Their own terms and privacy policies may also apply to their processing.

Legal bases and business use

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we process account and billing data to perform a contract with you, comply with legal obligations, protect legitimate security and business interests, and, where required, based on consent.

The service is intended primarily for professional and business users. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to provide the relevant account and billing information.

Transactional emails

We send transactional emails for account verification, password reset, purchase confirmation, subscription renewal, credit usage, support requests and requested IP enrichment status updates.

Transactional emails are part of the service and are not marketing emails. If marketing messages are introduced, they will be handled separately and with any consent required by law.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage for authentication, session continuity, security, theme preference and product functionality. The service does not require advertising cookies for core operation.

Third-party services such as Stripe may set cookies or process technical identifiers when you use payment or billing flows.

Retention

We retain account data while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward where needed for security, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or legal compliance.

Billing and invoice records may be retained for the statutory periods required by tax and accounting rules. Public source records may remain in the indexed trial database even if a user account is deleted.

Your choices and rights

You may request access, correction, export or deletion of your account data by contacting support@intelligencetrials.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or other privacy laws, including objection, restriction, portability or complaint rights with a supervisory authority.

Security

We use protected server routes, role-based database access, rate limiting on sensitive endpoints, secure payment processing through Stripe, and operational logging designed to avoid exposing sensitive personal information.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.

International transfers

Our infrastructure and providers may process data in countries different from your country of residence. Where required, transfers are handled through provider safeguards such as contractual commitments and lawful transfer mechanisms.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, providers or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.

This policy is a platform protection document and does not replace jurisdiction-specific legal advice. Commercial launch, tax configuration and consumer-law obligations should be reviewed by qualified counsel.
