The study, sponsored by King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center, aims to evaluate two skin-protective strategies for head and neck cancer patients undergoing TomoTherapy. Given the high incidence of radiation dermatitis (up to 84%) in this patient population, successful outcomes could position the selected intervention as a standard of care, potentially capturing a significant share of the supportive care market in oncology. The products being tested are affordable and widely available, which may facilitate adoption in clinical practice. However, the lack of established standards for managing radiation dermatitis presents both a challenge and an opportunity for differentiation in a competitive landscape dominated by traditional supportive care approaches.
