The study investigates the potential of ancient Tamil practices (chanting and breathing exercises) to stimulate the secretion of NGF in saliva, which has implications for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD). Given the increasing prevalence of AD and the limitations of current pharmacological treatments, this non-invasive approach could represent a novel therapeutic strategy. The findings may open avenues for further research and development of NGF as a therapeutic target, potentially leading to new market opportunities in neurodegenerative disease management. The integration of complementary and alternative medicine into mainstream healthcare could enhance patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs, positioning this research favorably in the evolving biopharma landscape.
