The SPARCK trial, sponsored by the Norwegian Center for Child Behavioral Development, aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a novel parent training intervention designed to prevent childhood mental health problems. Given the increasing prevalence of mental health issues among children, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, this intervention addresses a significant unmet need in pediatric mental health care. The trial is currently recruiting participants and is expected to yield results by mid-2025. If successful, SPARCK could position itself as a leading preventive intervention in the mental health space, potentially influencing care practices in frontline services across Norway and beyond. The findings may also attract interest from stakeholders in child welfare and mental health sectors, including governmental and non-governmental organizations focused on child development and mental health prevention strategies.
