The study investigates the feasibility and tolerability of acupressure and acupuncture as complementary interventions for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Given the increasing prevalence of ASD and the growing interest in alternative therapies, this research could position the sponsor, Johns Hopkins University, as a pioneer in integrating traditional practices into modern therapeutic frameworks. The results may attract interest from pharmaceutical companies and investors looking to expand their portfolios in the pediatric behavioral health market. However, the limited sample size and the challenges in recruitment for Phase 2 may pose risks to scalability and broader clinical application.
